If Your Life Was a Book – What Would the Title Be?

Never mind the title, what we really want is the synopsis. Or the blurb on the back of the book that gives us the thrills and chills and sneak peek at what’s inside. Now, my personal life story is (awesomely) boring at the moment. Oh, there have been exciting bits. Like being bundled up into an air ambulance a few years ago, or the time the guy next to me on the bus leaned over and leered, “Roll up your sleeves, sweetie, I want to look at your arms.” There was the time I fainted in the middle of a job interview, and the time I made out with this complete stranger (whose name I had forgotten at the time) in the middle of an apple orchard.

But day to day life seems pretty dull sometimes. Until you write up a synopsis of it, anyway. Give it a go, maybe. I know it made me grin . . .

VanderVision Tip of the Day: Words can make pretty much anything happen, if they're the right words. They can transform boring into awesome, for instance.

The Social Hermit: A Novel in the Kimberly VanderHorst Series

Kimberly VanderHorst is a not-so-young-anymore mother of four little girls. She lives with her lovably dorky husband in a small community she has come to love but struggles to fit into. Most of her close friends live hundreds or thousands of miles away, and though she has the nagging feeling that she should attempt to build real life friendships with people she can meet up with face-to-face, Kimberly languishes at home in her pajamas and makes up stories in her head all day long.

Fortunately Kimberly is an author and the words are freely flowing these days. Her fingers can't keep up with the novel ideas her (slightly twisted) mind provides. Through writing Kimberly develops an awareness of her own awesomeness that saves her from dwindling into obscurity and, noble creature that she is, she chooses to share her awesomeness with the world through the form or a little read blog with cool pictures in it and a shocking overuse of the word 'awesome'.

She's awesome like that.

What’s in your book?
