Internal Soundtrack. Ninja Style.

I live my life to the beat of my own internal soundtrack. When I'm in the elevator my imagination supplies its own elevator music. When I drive really fast, high speed chase music starts blaring through my cranium. I used to think other drivers could hear it or something, because I get some odd looks when I'm driving. Turns out it's because I'm a head bopper. I have super long hair these days which makes my head bopping look pretty darn hilarious, I've been told.

I've also been told it's no longer cool. Dang. I miss the 80's sometimes.

For a clumsy chick I have some pretty graceful moments, especially when I'm wearing my slippers. They're practically magic, these slippers of mine. They are shiny, pale blue, and have wee little ribbon bows on the toes.

VanderVision Tip of the Day: You don't have to be stylish to be awesome. I'm proof.

When I'm wearing these girly little slippers of mine, I move super quietly through the house. Ninja style. And every time I do, a line from a BNL song plays in my head . . . ''The ninjas are deadly and silent, they're also unspeakably violent...'' BNL is awesome. If you don't like BNL, you're not as awesome as you think you are.

It's too hot for wearing slippers this summer, so my wannabe-ninja moments are pretty few. Right now my internal soundtrack is playing Flight of the Bumblebee and I'm resisting the temptation to shove a pencil into my ear in a desperate attempt to turn it off. My musical education has been just the tiniest bit too broad, if you ask me. Ah, that got me thinking about the Big Band era and now Glenn Miller is reverberating through my thoughts (extra points if you can tell me what's ironic about that).

What's playing on your internal soundtrack right now? And if you don't have one, get one. It's an intrinsic part of being awesome.

  1. If I had a million dollars,
I'd buy you a green dress--
But not a real green dress, 'cause that's cruel.

Now playing because you mentioned BNL!

  2. These days my internal soundtrack sounds an awful lot like the pieces I am playing for my next concert, Phineas and Ferb, and VeggieTales (still a very popular thing at my house).

I'm just not as cool as you. No ninja's here, except for the Backyardigans kind (also still very popular here).
